identified as Alzheimers NZ - when I phoned back went to answer phone asking me for my number

Said they were Meridian Energy, had an English accent but when asked how they got my number they said it was from a public directory and wanted to offer me a chance to decrease my power bill if I switch over. Asked what public directory and they hung up. Called it back and got an answer machine with new Zealand accent saying it was meridian and if I didn't want the calls I should leave my number I was called on lol.

Had three calls from them this month. One I answered and they hang up straight away

Caller: Scammer

Indian that could barely speak English talking about my account being hacked. No idea what "company" he was calling from. Obvious scam call.

Caller: Said they were form meridian energy

Used a name from an email i use to sign up for accounts i dont want contact from. I have never used meridian energy. When I asked where they got this number, they said it was in their database and that someone must have signed me up.
