Received call today male person indian accent, lot of chatter in background (call centre) stated that he was from visa and that there was a problem with my account. Phone rang. Woman I could barely understand knew all my details and asked me to confirm them, to be entered into some survey results, to be in the draw for $1000. All of a sudden, for unknown reasons, I didn’t qualify, but still will be entered to win the money, with one additional entry because the results are to be announced on my birthday. All a little ridiculous and quite plainly stupid.

Today is 11 January 2024, and I have just received a call from this number. However, my mobile never rang, and it was right beside me. Because I didn't recognise the number, and because my records show that I had several calls last year from this number, I twigged to a likely scam and have steered clear from calling the number. I don't wish to be scammed.

On Wednesday 4/10/23 I received a text from this number purporting to be HSBC reporting irregular activity on 'my account'. I don't have an account with them and I'm in Australia. I didn't open the text of course.

Three and a half minutes on my voice mail of what sounded like a busy call centre, with ringing phones, numbers being dialled, and occasional voices in the background. No message left - and no reason anybody would be ringing me in Australia!
